Spanish Inspired Wedding : Villa Del Sol

From Concept to Creation

This shoot was so fun to dream up. Literally the minute I toured the Villa Del Sol Venue in Fullerton, CA I had this vision. A vision of jalapeño margaritas, bright flower crowns, alpacas, and rose gold details everywhere. Picture San Juan Mission-esque architecture, gorgeous palm trees, and an epic balcony with wrought iron detailing. The venue has this amazing California Spanish vibe and I absolutely wanted to play off of it. The process of a styled shoot is the same as a fully designed wedding, we always start with a design board. I like to take it one step further and do a concept board like the one above at first that’s not as structured and detailed that I can then translate into the full 7-10 page design board. Basically so that I can get rid of all the ideas in my head and put them into one place. So, overall I had decided on :

After lots of phone calls and emails with some amazing vendors we came up with a beyond gorgeous shoot! The pictures were phenomenal and unlike anything you’ve ever seen! Literally! Like cmon, alpacas? At a wedding? It was EPIC. I had so much fun hanging out with the alpacas and working with them. Literally almost cried when they got out of the trailer. It was beyond cool to see my vision come to life! Styled shoots definitely take a ton of work to create but are so amazing because you get to work with your vision directly and can be as creative as you want to be!
